Memorial Day 2012
We took the kids to decorate graves today. Shyann and Ashton were excited to put pinwheels by the gravestones and a flower for each one. Rick and I caught a little bit of "genealogy bug" and have decided to try and get ours in order. I started by borrowing the box of Rick's grandma (Gladys Eggett Everett) and have slowly scanned the pictures and family histories to input into Legacy (a family history program). My goal is to be able to have photos of relatives and as accurate of a file as I can that I can share with others desiring to progress the work.
Visiting the Robins Grave
It has almost been a full year since grandma (Eloise Flint Robins). This is the first time since July I have been back. It is bittersweet. I miss them so much. Above is my dad (Kevin Flint Robins) and my aunts (Louise Brudnicki, Leeann Robins, and Nancy Thomas).
The Bountiful Cemetery puts up white crosses for every veteran buried in the cemetery with their name on the cross. My dad always makes sure there is a flag by it. This is my grandpa's (Lee Watt Robins).
Rick and I asked Richard Ivan Everett (father of Rick) where his grandparents on the Everett side were buried. To our surprise they were buried in the Centerville Utah cemetery. We took a brief trip to the cemetery and were able to locate their gravestones. Using the "Billion Graves" app we mapped those gravestones so they are accessible on the internet. It has been fun finding these pieces of our family and being able to put pictures and information together about them.
